Project Reporting Tool

Description

I led the design of a comprehensive reporting tool for project cost distribution analysis. The primary goal was to help the client get a clear breakdown of their project costs on an annual basis. The process began by sketching out early concepts using diagrams.net, allowing for quick iterations. After collecting feedback from the client and internal stakeholders, I developed a detailed prototype in Adobe XD, focusing on user interactivity and dynamic data visualization. Collaboration with the development team ensured the table could handle dynamic resizing based on filtering criteria, enhancing usability and efficiency.

Key Features:

  • Dynamic Columns: The table design adapts based on the filters applied, offering a customized view for the user.
  • Cost Distribution Filters: Users can filter reports based on year, department, and other variables to focus on specific cost areas.
  • Use Case Buttons: Added interactive buttons that simulate different filtering scenarios, allowing the client to visualize how the table responds under different conditions.

Technologies Used

Adobe XD, diagrams.net, collaborative design iterations.

Challenges Overcome

Handling dynamic columns without compromising design clarity. Learned to communicate more effectively with both clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment on project goals.
