Utility Project Management Tool
Description
I designed an internal tool to replace Excel-based tracking of utility projects. After a detailed meeting with the internal client, I realized that while they were comfortable with Excel, we could offer a more interactive, intuitive solution that streamlined their workflow. I proposed four different design approaches in Adobe XD, ranging from traditional tables to interactive project cards, each offering unique ways of displaying data. After a client review, we settled on an accordion-style table (Option 2), allowing for seamless project and work order management in a more compact and organized view.
Key Features:
- Accordion Functionality: Users can expand/collapse specific projects to view associated work orders, minimizing page clutter.
- Project Categorization: The tool offers multiple levels of categorization, grouping projects by type and status for better overview.
- Interactive Cards: For the more visual-oriented users, I designed an option featuring clickable project cards that open detailed views and allow quick access to work orders.
